John Irvine Photography New Blog

November 6, 2007

Hey Everyone

This is my first attempt at a blog...do forgive me. I thought it might be fun to use this; as a journal, a place to keep friends updated on my adventures and images, and an oppurtunity to inform friends of things that might be helpful for their own pursuits in the outdoors and in photography.

First things first...I just put up a new website featuring the images I have gotten over the last couple of years. Was fun to put it together. I simply used Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. It has some amazing templates to use and can be done in no-time. Enjoy!

Below is a shot of my buddy Garret at the infamous Skookumchuk. Garret is a shredder as you can see, and this image was enhanced in Photoshop using a variety of layers and filters that I used to make the water really stand out. Whitewater shots can really be tricky, given all the white and lack of contrast. The process used here allowed me to really make the water stand out, and it gives a cartoon like look to the image.
